BACKUP is an acronym which means Building Alliances, Creating Knowledge and Updating Partners.

The German BACKUP Initiative is commissioned by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and co-operates worldwide with government institutions, civil society and United Nations organizations.
