Bangladesh Health Economics Unit Website Revised and Online
The Health Economics Unit (HEU) of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare in Bangladesh has revised their website. The website features essential information and downloads on the work of HEU. The recently approved Health Care Financing Strategy (2012-2032) is a prominent feature on the website. As Bangladesh is taking its first steps towards Universal Coverage, the HEU recognizes the need for an information hub on Heath Financing and Health Economics. In the upcoming weeks the HEU together with GIZ will be working to optimise the website.

Health Population and Nutrition Development Partner Consortium
The
Government of Bangladesh has been conducting a sector-wide approach programme
coordinated with bilateral and multilateral donors to strengthen the health
sector; it is called the Health, Population, and Nutrition Sector Development
Programme (HPNSDP). It is the largest sector-wide approach in the world and is supported by 23 development partners.
GIZ Health Bangladesh has assisted to develop a new website for the health consortium partners as a contribution to better knowledge management. This newly designed Health, Population and Nutrition website (http://www.hpnconsortium.org) features all essential information about the HPNSDP development partner consortium. It aims to promote the sharing and application of knowledge on health development in Bangladesh and to serve as an information resource for those interested to know more about the HPNSDP. The website is an information hub and document repository for the HPNSDP and its 2 former sector development programs. It contains HPNSDP operational plans, annual program reviews, laws, events, Minutes of Meetings, as well as information and materials of all involved development partners. Development partners have recognized the website’s valuable contribution towards better knowledge management, harmonization and better transparency of development interventions in Bangladesh.

Providing for Health: Moving together towards universal social health protection
The Providing for Health (P4H) initiative is a response to the global challenge that every year some 100 million people are being pushed into poverty while accessing health services. Many more are too poor even to seek health care.
The P4H initiative comprises Germany, France, Switzerland, Spain, the International Labour Organization (ILO), the World Health Organization (WHO), the World Bank and The African Development Bank (AfDB).
Germany is represented through the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). Collaborating partners at implementation level are the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and the KfW Entwicklungsbank (KfW Development Bank).
